Safe Towing Specifications and Advice

Our Kimberley Kampers are a rugged, all terrain camper trailer that is built to travel to most places. They are easy to tow and back, and track very well behind a suitable towing vehicle. They are fitted with a compression style trailer brake which requires no vehicle adaptation.

Not all vehicles are suitable for towing. Many small sedans and small 4WD vehicles may not have sufficient capacity to tow safely. The camper trailer hire will not proceed if the proposed towing vehicle is not suitable or safe for towing. Delivery of a camper trailer can be arranged. A delivery fee applies. Suitable towing vehicles are also available for hire and can be packaged with a camper trailer.

Key vehicle towing specifications are:

Towing capacity:  1.3 tonne minimum

Tow ball weight:  150kg preferred

Tow bar tongue height:  400 – 520mm

Tow bar tongue fitting:  To suit Treg coupling. The standard tow ball must be removed.

Electrical connection: Large 7 pin round plug is standard. Adaptors available.
