About Flour Cask Bay Sanctuary
Flour Cask Bay Sanctuary is a privately owned conservation reserve on Kangaroo Island, South Australia. It overlooks the beautiful Salt Lake, numerous lagoons and is only minutes from the pristine white sandy beach of Flour Cask Bay.
The former grazing property was once the hub of Kangaroo Island’s salt industry and gypsum mining and has a colourful history.
It contains important remnant habitat including rolling limestone hills, dune systems and wetlands. These are being restored to enhance the protection of the Sanctuary and Kangaroo Island’s South Coast.
The Sanctuary offers remote and totally private accommodation and camping opportunities including well appointed and fully self contained Eco Camps and camper trailers. Private sites are also available for guests with their own camping equipment, camper trailers, motor homes, campervans or caravans.
The Sanctuary is a great venue for walking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, swimming, plentiful wildlife and expansive scenery. Flour Cask Bay is close to all of the Island’s major towns, airport, ferry and is a great base to visit the Island’s many natural and cultural wonders.
The Sanctuary offers a quality range of vehicles, canoes, mountain bikes and camping equipment for hire across Kangaroo Island or for touring Australia-wide. Our equipment range can cater from baby to adult sizes for all activities. Individual items to supplement personal equipment or full equipment packages and travel arrangements are available to make your Kangaroo Island adventure easy, memorable and unique.
